Remote work

Remote operator, sales and customer support roles

An “operator wanted” listing can mean answering incoming questions, processing orders or calling new customers. Before applying, clarify which outcomes the company expects from you.

Separate duties from scheduling

Support resolves existing customers' problems; sales explains the product and works towards an agreement to buy. One role may combine both. Ask the employer to describe a typical working day.

  • Will you handle inbound calls, outbound calls, chat or a combination?
  • What are the shift hours in Tashkent time, breaks and days off?
  • Who provides the CRM, work phone system and written instructions?
  • Which issues can you resolve yourself, and which must be escalated?

Understand the components of pay

A maximum figure introduced by “up to” is not a guaranteed monthly salary. Ask separately about fixed pay, bonus conditions and how commission is calculated. Clarify in writing how cancellations, returns and a trial period affect earnings.

Ask whether quoted amounts are gross or net and when payment is due. This guide does not provide market salary figures.

Practise a clear customer response

Summarise the issue first, request the information you need and explain the next step. Do not promise discounts or refunds you cannot authorise. Use fictional details for practice rather than real customers' phone numbers.

Your checklist

  • Duties and communication channels are clear.
  • The shift fits your classes and other commitments.
  • Fixed pay and commission have been explained separately.
  • Rules for handling customer information are agreed.
